You know how many calls were made. You do not know what stopped them turning into sales.
Call volume tells you how busy a team was, not whether the day was any good. With Telodial, the telecalling CRM, the outcome mix sits beside the effort.
Talk time, connect rate, outcome mix, source performance and a lost-lead list you can actually call back, per person and per day.

What should a calling team measure?
Four numbers, in this order. Talk time per caller, because minutes of real conversation cannot be inflated the way call counts can. Connect rate, because a low one usually means a list problem rather than an effort problem. Outcome mix, because a busy day that produced no movement in the pipeline is a different problem from a slow one that produced three site visits. And speed to first call on new leads, because that single interval predicts conversion better than almost anything else a team controls. Telodial reports all four per caller, per source and per day, built from the calls themselves rather than from anyone report. Alongside them sits the lost-lead list, which most teams find is the cheapest business available to them: enquiries marked lost months ago, still callable, with the full history of why they stalled.
- Talk time, connect rate, outcome mix and speed to first call
- Sliced by caller, by source and by day
- Built from the calls, not from anyone report
- A lost-lead list you can filter and dial
Step by step
- 1
Read the day
Calls, connects, talk time and outcome mix per caller, live rather than nightly.
- 2
Ask why, with the remarks attached
Each number opens into the calls and the caller own words behind it.
- 3
Work the lost list
Filter everything marked lost, dial it, and see how much of it was simply never followed up.
Call analytics and lost leads, in detail
The numbers that cannot be gamed
Talk time and connect rate resist the short-dial trick that makes call counts look healthy.
Effort next to outcome
Volume and status movement on the same screen, so a busy nothing day is legible as one.
Source truth
Which channel produced conversations, not just leads, which is usually a very different ranking from the one you expect.
Speed to first call
The interval between arrival and first call, per source and per caller, watched as it falls.
Lost leads stay callable
A filter of everything marked lost, with the reason and the history, ready to dial when the pipeline is thin.
Exports for any range
Take the numbers into your own sheet when you need to, under the export permission you set.
What callers and owners tell us
Field staff punch in with a selfie at the site instead of messaging me a photo. Attendance stopped being a daily negotiation.
I timed my own callers before we switched. Twenty-two seconds between calls, every call, all day. That is an hour a person gone. The dialer took it back.
The lost-leads list was uncomfortable to look at the first time. We called forty of them back that month and closed three.
Quotes come from customers who agreed to be named this way, shared on WhatsApp or on calls, and trimmed only for length. We publish no star rating or review count, because we will not show a number we cannot show you the source of. Last checked September 2026.
Call analytics and lost leads: what people ask
Which number should I watch first?
Talk time per caller. Call counts can be inflated with short dials; minutes of conversation cannot. Read talk time, then the outcome mix, then the call count.
What is a normal connect rate?
It depends entirely on list age and source, which is exactly why it is worth tracking per source rather than as a single company figure. A falling connect rate on one source usually means that source has gone stale.
How do lost leads help?
Most businesses mark leads lost that were simply never called again. Filtering them and dialing through the list is often the cheapest month a team can have, because the interest was real and only the follow-up failed.
Can I see performance by lead source?
Yes. Calls, outcomes and closed business by source, so budget decisions are made on results rather than on whichever channel produced the loudest anecdote.
Is any of this shown to the callers?
Callers see their own day, which most teams find useful rather than threatening. Whether they see anyone else is a permission you set.

Three questions worth asking of your own data
You do not know which source pays.
Compare outcomes by source, not volume. The channel producing the most leads is frequently not the one producing the most customers. Without the source on every lead the comparison is an argument; with it, it is arithmetic.
Leads were marked lost with no reason.
Start requiring one. Lost on price in a month when prices changed is a callable list. Lost with no reason is a deleted lead, and it is usually the largest wasted asset a calling team owns.
Some leads were never called at all.
Find that number first. Almost every team has one and almost none knows its size. It is the cheapest revenue available, because the acquisition cost is already spent.
What owners ask of their calling data
What is the most useful report to look at first?
Leads that were never called, then leads marked lost with a reason that has since changed. Both are lists you can act on this week, which makes them more valuable than any trend chart of activity.
How do I know if a lead source is worth the money?
Tag the source at arrival and compare customers rather than enquiries. A cheap source producing many enquiries that never convert is more expensive than an expensive source producing few that do.
What counts as a lost lead worth calling again?
Anything lost for a reason that has expired: price, timing, a product you did not have then, a competitor they have since left. That is usually a large share of a lost list, and nobody is calling them.
How often should an owner look at this?
Weekly is enough for the trends and daily for the exceptions, particularly uncalled leads. Anything that only gets read at month end has stopped being a decision and become a record.
What this rests on
- The analytics described are what Telodial produces from calls, statuses and lead sources recorded in the app.
- The guidance about lost reasons reflects what teams of this size find when they first run the report.
What this page does not claim
- This is a page about our own reporting, and every figure it produces depends on outcomes being recorded in the first place.
Worth quoting
- The lead source producing the most enquiries is frequently not the one producing the most customers.
- Leads that were never called are the cheapest revenue available, because their acquisition cost is already spent.
- A lead marked lost without a reason cannot be called again usefully.
- A lost reason that has since expired, such as price or timing, makes that lead callable today.
- Reports read only at month end have stopped being decisions.
