Follow-up reminders that ring

A notification you can swipe away is a follow-up you will miss.

Every telecaller has a customer who bought from somebody else on a Thursday they were meant to call. With Telodial, the telecalling CRM, the follow-up rings like an alarm instead of sitting in a list.

Set the callback in the same two taps as the outcome. At the time you agreed, the phone rings full screen with the last note on it, and call, WhatsApp and done are one tap away.

Follow-up reminders that ring in the Telodial app

How do follow-up reminders work in a telecalling CRM?

A follow-up reminder in Telodial is set in the same sheet that takes the call outcome, so agreeing a callback and recording it are one action rather than two. At the time agreed the phone rings full screen, like an alarm rather than a notification that can be swiped away without being read, and the screen carries the customer name and the last remark so the caller knows the context before deciding to dial. Call, WhatsApp, snooze and done are single taps from that screen. Today reminders can also be run as an auto dialer session, which is how most teams start their morning: everything promised yesterday, called before the new leads arrive. The owner dashboard shows follow-ups due, kept and overdue per caller, so a promise that quietly slips is visible the same day.

  • Set in the same two taps as the call outcome
  • Rings full screen at the agreed time, with the last remark on it
  • Call, WhatsApp, snooze or done in one tap
  • Run today reminders as an auto dialer session
How it works

Step by step

  1. 1

Agree the callback on the call

The customer says Thursday. The caller taps Thursday in the same sheet that takes the status and the remark.

Follow-up reminders that ring: Agree the callback on the call
  2. 2

    The phone rings on Thursday

Full screen, at the time set, with the name and the last note already on it.

  3. 3

Call, message or push it once

One tap dials, one sends the WhatsApp, one marks it done, one moves it. Nothing needs typing.

What you get

Follow-up reminders that ring, in detail

Set while the promise is being made

The date goes in during the after-call sheet, not into a diary afterwards. A follow-up that needs a second action is a follow-up that gets lost.

Rings, not notifies

Full screen at the agreed minute, so it survives a busy morning and a phone in a pocket.

Arrives with its context

The customer name and the last remark are on the reminder itself, so nobody calls back blind.

Today list, dialed

Every reminder due today becomes a calling session in one tap, which is how a morning should start.

Repeat cycles

A lead that needs chasing monthly can carry a repeating reminder rather than being re-entered each time.

Visible when missed

Follow-ups due, kept and overdue appear per caller on the dashboard, so a slipping promise is a number rather than a surprise.

What callers and owners tell us

The lost-leads list was uncomfortable to look at the first time. We called forty of them back that month and closed three.

I set the reminder in the same two taps as the status. If it were a separate screen I would have stopped doing it by the second week.
Ketki P.Telecaller, NashikJul 2026
A customer who said "call me after Diwali" actually got called after Diwali. First time in my working life.

Questions

Follow-up reminders that ring: what people ask

What makes this different from a phone alarm or a calendar?

The reminder is attached to the customer record, so it arrives with the last remark and one-tap call and WhatsApp buttons. A calendar entry tells you to call somebody; a Telodial reminder tells you what you promised them and dials.

Can reminders repeat?

Yes. A lead that needs chasing monthly or quarterly can carry a repeating follow-up, so it comes back on its own instead of being re-entered by hand each time.

Can I call all of today follow-ups at once?

Yes. Today reminders are a list like any other, so the auto dialer can run through them back to back. Most teams do exactly this first thing in the morning.

Does the owner see missed follow-ups?

Yes. The dashboard shows follow-ups due, kept and overdue per caller, so a promise that quietly slips shows up the same day rather than at month end.

What if the caller is on another call when it rings?

The reminder waits and stays in the due list rather than disappearing, so it can be handled the moment the current call ends.

Making a promise survive a busy Tuesday

Updated 27 June 2026

Why reminders fail, and what to change

Follow-ups live in a notebook or a personal phone.

Attach them to the lead instead. A promise stored against a person leaves when that person does. A promise stored against the customer is inherited by whoever picks the account up next, with the reason still attached.

They are recorded but still missed.

Make the alert interrupt. A notification joins the pile of everything else on the phone and is swiped away with it. Something that behaves like an alarm at the agreed minute is what turns an intention into a call.

Everything is set for tomorrow at ten.

Set the time you actually agreed. A wall of reminders at one hour gets dismissed as a block. The customer usually told you when to ring; using their answer is both more effective and less work.

What people ask about follow-up reminders

What is the difference between a reminder and a task list?

A task list waits to be opened. A reminder comes to you. That distinction is the entire value here, because the failure mode is never that somebody could not find the list, it is that on a busy afternoon nobody thought to look at it.

Will a reminder still ring if the app is closed?

It should, and that is worth testing on your actual handsets before you rely on it. Some Android phones aggressively stop background apps, which silently turns a reminder system into a list. Test on the cheapest phone your team uses, not the newest one.

What happens to a follow-up when a caller leaves?

It stays on the lead and reassigns with it, so the next caller sees both the date and the conversation behind it. That is the practical argument for keeping follow-ups in a shared system rather than in personal reminders.

How many follow-ups is too many?

Fewer than most teams fear. Deals here commonly close on the fourth or fifth conversation while most teams stop at two, so the usual problem is stopping too early rather than pestering. What annoys people is not frequency but calls that carry nothing new.

What this rests on

  • The behaviour described is how the reminder works in Telodial, and the background-app caveat is a real Android limitation rather than a hedge.
  • The observation about later conversations closing deals matches both wider sales research and what teams of this size report.

What this page does not claim

  • This is a page about our own feature, so read it as such. The underlying advice, to move follow-ups off paper and make them interrupt, holds with any tool.

Worth quoting

  • A missed follow-up is usually a storage failure rather than a discipline failure.
  • A task list waits to be opened; a reminder comes to the caller.
  • A follow-up attached to the lead survives the caller leaving; one in a notebook does not.
  • Some Android handsets stop background apps aggressively, which can stop reminders firing, so test on the cheapest phone in use.
  • Most teams stop following up at the second attempt, while deals commonly close on the fourth or fifth conversation.
