Call disposition
Call disposition: The recorded outcome of a call, chosen from a fixed list, which is what turns a call log into something a manager can read.
Definitions checked 4 September 2026.
A disposition is what happened on the call, as distinct from where the lead now stands. Answered, no answer, switched off, wrong number, not interested, call later: a short set of outcomes chosen with one tap. It matters because a call log with durations tells you nothing about quality, while a log with dispositions can be counted, compared and acted on.
The design rule is the same as for statuses: keep the list short enough to be chosen honestly. When there are twenty options a caller under pressure picks whichever is nearest, and the resulting data is worse than none because it looks precise. Six to eight options generally survive contact with a busy day.
Dispositions and lead statuses answer different questions and both are worth capturing. The disposition explains the call, the status explains the relationship. In Telodial both are taken in the same after-call sheet, so the record shows a lead moved to interested because of a call that was answered and lasted four minutes.
