IVR
IVR: An automated menu that answers a call and asks the caller to press a key or speak, then routes them, most useful for inbound calls and largely irrelevant to outbound telecalling.

Interactive voice response is the press one for sales menu. It answers a call automatically, gathers a choice, and routes accordingly, which is a sensible thing to do when many people call one advertised number and you need them to reach the right desk. Larger operations layer it further: opening hours, queue announcements, callback offers.
For outbound telecalling it is close to irrelevant, and occasionally harmful. The caller placing the call already knows who they want; putting anything between the customer answering and a person speaking increases the chance they hang up. Some outbound setups do place an IVR ahead of the agent, and it is one of the reasons those calls are answered less often than they used to be.
IVR usually arrives bundled with cloud telephony, which is why comparison discussions in this category treat it as a feature to have. For a team of six calling their own enquiries from their own phones, it is a feature to skip. Telodial does not include an IVR, because a SIM based outbound dialer has nothing sensible to do with one.
